구삼옥은 비행기광이다. 어려서부터 날아다니는 것에 호기심이 많아서 전생에 날짐승이었을 지도 모른다고 생각하고 있다. 시력 때문에 전문 조종사의 길 대신에 항공기를 설계할 수 있는 항공공학자가 되었다.  1983년부터 항공기 연구개발 분야에서 일해왔고, 1999년부터 무인항공기 개발 연구를 해오고 있다.  무인항공기의 자율비행 기술을 유인항공기에 적용하여 아무나 타고 다닐 수 있는 미래의 항공기를 개발하는 일에 큰 흥미를 가지고 있다.

어릴 적부터 취미였던 모형항공기에서부터 시작한 항공기 조종의 재미를 키워서 자가용 조종사 자격증도 취득하였다. 그의 다음 목표는 자신이 만든 비행기를 직접 조종하여 우리 강산 하늘 유람을 하는 것이다.

Koo, Sam-Ok is an aviation enthusiast. He was curious about flying things when he was young and he even thought that he might have been an animal with wings in a past life because his passion for flying was so strong. He had to abandon his dream of being a professional pilot because of his poor eyesight, so instead, he became an aeronautical engineer who could design aircraft.

 

Since 1999, he has been engaged in the research of UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and he also dreams of developing an aircraft which can apply one of the techniques of UAV, so that in the future, everyone can use these aircraft to fly.

 

He is a licenced private pilot and a model aircraft hobbyist. His next goal is to cruise through the skies, over lovely rivers and mountains of homeland, on his own aircraft he built.
